Hamilton goalkeeper Tomas Cerny claims enjoyment has been the key to the revival that has raised hopes of a dramatic escape from relegation.
Hamilton were 12 points adrift going into the final weekend before the Clydesdale Bank Premier League split, but are now just three behind St Mirren ahead of their penultimate game at St Johnstone on Tuesday night.
Cerny said: "I think it got to the point where we just thought 'okay, we've got six games to go, let's go and enjoy the football and enjoy every game'."
Accies have won three out of four matches, including their first home win of the SPL campaign, against Hibernian on Saturday.
Hamilton manager Billy Reid has stressed the importance of the return to fitness of captain Alex Neil, but Cerny believes a shift in attitude has also been pivotal.
He said: "It has worked really well for us so I would like to take the same approach into the next two games, just enjoy the football and try to get good results."
St Mirren's mindset has gone in the opposite direction, with manager Danny Lennon claiming they were hindered by fear during their 1-0 defeat at Inverness on Saturday.
Cerny said: "I can imagine it must be difficult because at some point they must have thought they were safe and could enjoy the rest of the season but our recent run has put them under pressure again.
"We just need to keep the same approach, go to the next game, try to enjoy it as we did in recent games."
