Hamilton Accies expect captain Alex Neil to miss the first three matches of the new season as he recovers from a hip operation.The 29-year-old will sit out the Scottish Premier League club's training camp in Spain next week.

However, the club are stressing that this is not a recurrence of the problem Neil suffered last season.

The midfielder did not feature until November last year, having undergone a hip operation in August.
