Hamilton boss Billy Reid will gladly wave goodbye to a frustrating season against Inverness at New Douglas Park on Saturday.

Accies' relegation from the Clydesdale Bank Premier League was confirmed with defeat at St Johnstone on Tuesday night after a three-year stint at the top level.

Reid has since come to terms with the drop down to the Irn-Bru First Division, but is looking to finish on a high against Caley, saying: "We would like to sign off with a win against Inverness."

He added: "But as long as we don't get anyone sent off or give away any penalties, I will be quite happy.

"We have given 15 penalties away this season and so we have caused our own problems.

"In the first game of the season we gave three penalties away and got somebody sent off and in our last game at St Johnstone, we gave two penalties away and had someone sent off.

"And then we had a stonewall penalty for us not given. So it has been a crazy season."

He added: "But it has been a fantastic three years and I am pretty excited about next season with the group of players that will remain here.

"Sometimes you have to take a step back but we will come back.

"There will be a freshness about the club and we have to build again."
